COMPELLENT SC4020 MANUAL FIRMWARE UPDATE

New update 6.7

System: Dell Compellent Sc4020

Login to Idrac / BMC 

Click Launch 

Accept and click Run

go to media - Virtual media wizard

Click Browse & Select the image file and click connect CD/DVD (you can download image file after contacting Dell Copilot)

Connect serial cable on Compellent and use putty to connect 

Speed: 115600

use -reset to reboot controller

Press ESC on boot 

Choose boot manager and press Enter

Select Virtual Drive and press Enter

Let it boot. Just monitor highlighted yellow. If it not loading reboot and start again

This Error is normal. Just reconnect to BMC / Idrac and connect iso image again

On Putty Type Installer

If you are updating use 1st option. In this case i was reimaging so i selected 2nd option 

Long wait.................

Almost done. Click ok 

Exit Installaer

Type reboot and press enter 

Rebooting dont press anything

It will take long time to update firmware (do not restart controller while firmware is updating)

You will see this (upgrading Firmware Image)

Controller will reboot several times after firmware updated

This Screen confirm that firmware is updated successfully
